Dr. Ahmad Pourrashidi is a neurosurgery specialist with eight years of successful experience in the field of brain tumor surgery, especially brain gliomas in the awake state, and is an assistant professor at the Department of Neurosurgery in Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS). He specializes in caring for patients with neurological disorders of the brain and spine, brain and spinal cord tumors, cerebrovascular abnormalities and skull base surgery. Dr. Porreshidi specializes in using endoscopic and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques to treat brain tumors, hydrocephalus, brain cysts, and complex spinal disorders. In addition to his expertise in open and endoscopic skull base surgery, he leads a research team focused on brain tumors. His scientific research and training to date demonstrate his commitment to advancing the field of neurosurgery. He is the author of several comprehensive clinical guidelines for neurosurgery and actively participates in scientific and strategic committees. He is currently developing several new collaborations between Sinai Hospital specialists and scientists and researchers to create a brain tumor-related treatment center, a previously unavailable resource that draws on the specialties of neurosurgery, trauma surgery and neuro-oncology. One of the most extensive collaborative efforts he has been involved in has been the development of awake surgery at Sinai Hospital. A project that facilitated collaboration between neuropsychology, anesthesiology, radiology, and engineering science. This effort has led to great clinical success. He remains committed to improving the treatment of neurosurgical diseases, both in and out of the operating room, through broader research.
