After liposuction, avoid staying stationary, taking blood thinners, vigorous exercise, and spending a long time in the bath. Other important things to remember after surgery is to stay hydrated and wear a compression garment as often as possible.
Hygiene issues
You may shower 24 to 48 hours after surgery, if your doctor okays it. You may remove the compression wraps when you shower. Pat the cuts (incisions) dry.
Do not take a bath for the first 2 weeks, or until your doctor tells you it is okay.
Liposuction requires going under anesthesia for the procedure. This means you won’t feel any pain during the liposuction surgery. However, you’ll feel pain after the procedure. Recovery can also be painful.
During the first few days of recovery, you can expect moderate pain and soreness. Your surgeon will have given you pain medication to make this discomfort manageable, so follow your medication schedule closely. You should plan to limit your activity during this time as well.
