Question and Answer

First few days after a facelift
During this phase of the facelift recovery, you will have some discomfort but should not feel significant pain. The pain medication you take should keep you comfortable, but swelling and bruising is normal. This is part of the healing process, and is expected during facelift recovery.
Will I be able to smile after a facelift? Yes. Your face will feel somewhat tight for the first week or two after the surgery, and you may have some difficulty smiling. This will go away, and patients will be able to expose their smile and enjoy their rejuvenated appearance.

A facelift, also known as rhytidectomy, is a surgical procedure that lifts and tightens these facial tissues. A facelift can involve removing excess skin, smoothing out folds or wrinkles, and tightening facial tissue. It doesn’t include a brow or eye lift, although these might be done at the same time.
In most cases, a facelift works best for people in their 40s, 50s, and 60s when signs of aging begin to become prevalent. Deep lines, wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin are the result of the aging process and can be best corrected through surgical techniques rather than non-surgical ones.
In general, the results from your facelift will look very good after about 1-month and you’ll look your best at 6 months. A facelift can produce long-lasting results for years to come. And while everyone has a unique aging process, many of my patients don’t feel they need more work for 12-14 years.
